Finn the whale, the lead Fundy Phonics mascot

About Fundy Phonics

Made in a New Brunswick classroom, for New Brunswick classrooms.

The teacher behind it

Built from real K-1 classrooms

Fundy Phonics is made by a New Brunswick classroom teacher who has just received his 25-year teaching pin - and almost all of those years have been spent in K-1. Every resource here is the kind he uses with his own class: printable, low-prep and built around how beginning readers actually learn to hear and map sounds.

  • 25 years in the classroom, almost all of it in Kindergarten and Grade 1.
  • Canadian spelling throughout - colour, favourite, practise.
  • Designed to work alongside UFLI Foundations and letter-group phonics programs, not replace them.
  • Uses the Andika literacy font - single-storey letters designed for new readers.
